Private Lessons

Private Online Guitar Lessons with Christopher Schreiner

One instructor. One student. One direction: real, measurable progress on guitar. Christopher Schreiner (Berklee '05) builds a custom roadmap around your goals, your current level, and the sounds you actually want to make.

Built Around Your Goals

Lessons stay focused on the music you actually want to play, not a generic workbook. Chris helps you connect technique, theory, rhythm, fretboard fluency, and improvisation into something musical and usable.

Bring a style, a problem, or a sound to the first lesson and Chris will build from there.

What You'll Work On

Lessons Tailored to How You Actually Play

There's no cookie-cutter curriculum here. Private lessons are built around you — your goals, your gaps, and the music that moves you. Depending on where you are and where you want to go, sessions may focus on:

  • Fretboard fluency — know your way around the entire neck, not just the first five frets
  • Improvisation and soloing over real chord changes, not just backing tracks
  • Blues, neo soul, funk, and rhythm guitar with authentic feel and phrasing
  • The CAGED system — demystify the fretboard once and for all
  • Modes, scales, and music theory that actually makes sense in a real-world context
  • Rhythm, groove, timing, and feel — the stuff most teachers skip
  • Practice strategy — a routine that's realistic, efficient, and actually sticks

Every lesson ends with a clear, specific practice plan so you know exactly what to do before the next session.

What Happens in Your Lessons

The First Lesson

The First Lesson

Chris starts by getting to know you — your goals, your current level, the music you love, and what's been frustrating you. You leave with a clear plan and something concrete to practice right away.

Every Lesson

Every Lesson

Focused, targeted instruction on what you specifically need. No filler, no generic exercises. Chris adapts the plan as you grow, so lessons stay relevant and challenging without becoming overwhelming.

Between Lessons

Between Lessons

You'll always know exactly what to practice, how to practice it, and why it matters. The work you put in between sessions is where the real transformation happens — and Chris helps you make that time count.

Who It's For

You're in the Right Place If...

  • Beginners: No experience needed. Chris builds a strong foundation from day one — proper technique, fretboard basics, and real music from the start.
  • Intermediate players: Feeling stuck? You know enough to play but not enough to go where you want to go. This is exactly the gap private lessons are designed to close.
  • Advanced guitarists: Chasing a specific sound, style, or technique? Private lessons give you the focused attention to crack the thing that's been holding you back.
  • Young guitarists: Chris works with students of all ages and has a knack for making complex concepts accessible and fun.
  • Had bad experiences with other teachers? You're not alone. Book a lesson and see what instruction from a real Berklee grad feels like.
